Abstract:
Objective To investigate the dietstatus and related disease among the children of Yugunationality and to provide evidence for nutritional intervention among minority children.
Methods By random cluster sampling,320 children aged 3 to 13 years were selected from Sunan county of Gansu province.Dietary survey was conducted with a 3 day continuous 24 hour recall and weighted method.
Results Dietary structure of the subjects was mainly consisted of grain.The in takes of meat and vegetable were deficient.The ratio of the children who could meet the recommend nutrition intakes(RNI) and estimated averag erequirement(EA R)of energy,vitamin A,vitam in B1,and zinc was less than 50%,especially for vitamin A(<10%).The ratio of energy that supplied by protein,fat,and carbohydrate was basically reasonable.The prote in and iron were mainly from plant food among the children(>60%).
Conclusion It is necessary to increase the intakes o f high quality prote in,iron,and vitamin A.It is important to increase the intakes of eggs,poultry,meat,liver and fresh vegetables to miprove the nutritional status of minority children.
